UW-La Crosse placed second at the 2017 NCAA III Midwest Regional and tied for 11th at the 2017 NCAA III Championships. The Eagles won the 2017 WIAC Championship, their 16th in school history. UW-La Crosse finished 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in 2016-17, recording its first undefeated dual season in school history and first undefeated conference season since 2011-12.
